AQUA-LIT at the VLIZ Science Day

AQUA-LIT presented a new poster and the final video!

On Wednesday March 3rd 2021 the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) held their 20th edition of the VLIZ Marine Science Day in their 20th year of existence. Given the current COVID19 restrictions, the anniversary edition was transformed into an online event broadcasted live from the arts center KAAP on the dyke of Ostend. This year’s keynote speaker Griet Neukermans (UGent/VLIZ) guided us through her international career in optical (remote) sensing and explained which research questions she tackles with it in the field of marine biogeochemistry, ecology and climate. In addition, several predoc presentations in the framework of the Belgian marine research were presented during the morning.

To compensate the networking that the VMSD brings with it, a renewing break-out ‘Meet the Company’ and poster pages were set up. Obviously, an AQUA-LIT poster couldn’t be missing during this event. The AQUA-LIT poster was presented under the ‘Fishery and aquaculture’ page and accompanied by the final video of the AQUA-LIT project. Given the great participation of hundreds of marine scientists and students, the VMSD can be considered a successful event for the AQUA-LIT project to disseminate its innovative results.
