A Spanish PDO organization is strongly linked not only to the associated shellfish farmers, but also to the regional (they are members of the PDO governing body although they are not allowed to vote) Spanish and European policy makers, to the European Molluscs Producers Association (EMPA), Spanish Advicer Assembly of Marine Cultures (JACUMAR due to the Spanish abbreviations), among others.
