Upcycling of used nets to polyamide yarns to be used for swimwear, socks, etc. Recycling nets: c. 302 tons of fish farming nets were upcycled for nylon yard ECONYL® in 2018 (one tonne of polyamide fishing nets = recycled yarn for 26000 pairs of socks or c. 1000m2 of carpet. Packaging: a smaller rim of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) trays and of lesser thickness to use less plastic, stack more and weigh less while shipping. Collaboration with ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) on a certification programme to include plastic-specific indicators in their next standards update across Mowi farms on an international level (farms in many countries all over the world).
