Development of a new gear marking sollution

Within the project Marelitt new ways of marking have been researched in laboratory and field tests jointly with engineurs and during authentic fishing and aquaculture operations. The objective was to develop a modern, practical high-tech solution for fishing gear marking allowing automatic identification and processing of recorded “in situ” data. The developed solution is a low-cost “smart tag” based on UHF RFID technology. The tag can be used with both new and existing fishing and aquaculture gear.
