Responsibility Measures
Corporate /social responisbility
Consider the circular economy approach when designing any aquaculture gear, to provide an economic value from the first
step in the production to the end-of-life.
Job profiles and positions similar to the Galician "redeiras" (Spain) could be brought to the aquaculture life cycle
and included as part of the corporate social responsibility of the aquaculture farmers and/or the gear producers.
Once the EPR system is in place, all involved stakeholders should implement the system as part of their daily work
tasks.
Organising clean-up activities for companies and communities
Use voluntary agreements (VA), e.g. supporting the provision of port container infrastructure for the collection of old
gear, supporting cleaning-up campaigns or re-use schemes.
Use voluntary commitments and pledges for individual companies. They are usually made indepently.
